A Step Back in Time

A walk back through 5 million years of Lymm Geology.

If you have gazed, mystified,  at some of Lymm’s remarkable rock formations, in Slitten Gorge, at the Cross and around the dam and wondered what they all meant now is your chance to learn more.  And we won’t bombard you with jargon. This is geology for everyone.

Lymm is an important geological site and a destination for keen geologists. Come and discover why.

The rocks reveal a fascinating story which we would like to share with you.

Dates          Sunday February 10th and February 24th 

Time:          Meet by 10.15am to depart 10.30am

Meet At       Lymm Heritage Centre Legh St WA13 0DA

Duration    :2-2.5 hours

Terrain:       Sorry not suitable for wheelchair users. We will climb the steps in and out of Slitten Gorge. 

Distance     2.5 miles approx. 

Cost           £5 -all proceeds to Lymm Heritage Centre - Reg Charity 1164961- Cash on the day -right money please.

Dress:        Stout Shoe/Boots and suitable winter wear.
