TRANSPORT

Lymm encapsulates the entire history of the transport revolution starting with  the early days of horse drawn transport and the advent of the canal age. Lymm Dam was formed by the building of a turnpike and of course what is now the Trans-Pennine  trail was once the railway. The Ship Canal was a world-beating engineering feat when it was built. Today the car is king and Thelwall Viaduct dominates but what next .. HS2?  Atlantic Gateway ?

The Wheels and the Water tells the story of Lymm's journey through the Transport Revolution from the horse to the modern day.
