TRADES 

For hundreds of year agriculture was the main activity for Lymm.  But while Lymm was spared many of the physical ravages of the Industrial Revolution the Bridgewater Canal brought with it irrevocable change and new industries like fustian cutting. Gold beating was another local trade brought out from Manchester. At one time Lymm even faced the possibility of being transformed by a massive extension of the salt extraction industry.
