Many of our visitors at the Centre are long time Lymm residents, both past and present.  Some come to learn a little about Lymm’s history.  Others come to rekindle memories of growing up in Lymm many years ago.  The Lymm Archive (thelymmarchive.co.uk), acts as a fantastic key to unlocking some of those memories. Our volunteers have lost count of the number of fantastic stories and anecdotes that have been shared with them over the years.

So now we are giving  all these memories an exhibition of their own-

Lymm In Living Memory,

where we can combine the stories with photographs from the archive to paint a picture of post-war Lymm through to the end of the 1980s.

Please share a favourite memory or memories  (or even a photograph of your own) that we include in the exhibition.    It could be any subject.

Did you have a favourite shop or pub? What made it special?

A trip to the May Queen fair or the cinema perhaps or a steam train ride to Warrington or Manchester.    Maybe there was a sad moment as you watched a familiar building being demolished or a funny incident that has stayed with you down the years.

.

Try to keep your story short: 100 words maximum if possible , think of it as a “snapshot”.

As many as you like !
